Leopard Cubs

Algemene Informatie

Pictured here are two leopard cubs at three months old, they were presented to Reginald Goddard, the owner of Chessington Zoo in 1935 whilst on a holiday cruise to West Africa. Chessington Zoo did well at breeding cats, regularly they would have cubs from lions, tigers and leopards, sometimes the keepers intervened in raising them should their parents not be able to do so. In 1968, Sonya, a tiger gave birth to two cubs, she abandoned them and shortly after that one of them died. One of the keepers, Mike Weston took the second cub home with him to hand rear.
