Ring Tailed Coati

Algemene Informatie

In the wild, Coatis live primarily in forested areas. However, due to human influence, it is now found in great numbers on forest edges and urban areas. This diurnal species is omnivorous, subsisting on a diet of fruit, eggs, insects and small mammals. It will also raid bins for waste food like it’s close relative in North American, the raccoon. It has multiple predators, such as birds of prey, snakes and wild cats like the ocelot. The ring-tailed coati is also known as the South American coati. As the name suggests, it is a species that lives across northern and central South America. Our group of coatis can be seen down Trail of the Kings and also in Rainforest!
