Sloths

See if you can spot our sloths hanging upside down high in the trees, which is where they spend most of their life.

General Information

Sloths are tree-dwelling animals known for their slow-moving lifestyle. Native to Central and South American rain forests, sloths are well adapted for living high in trees due to their uniquely large nails on their hands and feet that allow them to hang from branches. Sloths spend almost their entire life upside down in the trees. They eat, sleep, mate and give birth from this position hanging high among the branches. Sloths are herbivores, which mean they eat a plant-based diet. Get even closer with the Sloth Up-Close Encounter. During this 15-20 minute encounter, you'll go behind the scenes at Dolphin Amphitheater for an up-close experience with SeaWorld's very own two-toed sloths. Animal experts will share their knowledge and experience of caring for these animals and you will have the opportunity to take a #Slothie (Sloth selfie). Reservation includes the Sloth Encounter program for one (1) guest on day and time of your reservation only. Park admission is not included with your program reservation but is required. Due to the special nature of this program, space is limited and early reservations are recommended.
