Reptile House & Reptile Walk

General Information

The San Diego Zoo’s Reptile House is one of the earliest buildings on the grounds, originally built in 1936. It is home to a wide variety of lizards, turtles, and snakes, many of which are endangered species and some that are rarely seen in zoos. Opened in 2012, Reptile Walk is located behind the Reptile House. More than 50 reptile and amphibian species are on exhibit at Reptile Walk! These areas are curated to imitate each animals' native habitat, including marshes, swamps, vernal pools, and bogs, so you can see how they would live in the wild.
