Eastern Indigo Snake

General Information

Eastern Indigo Snakes seek refuge in Gopher Tortoise burrows, along with Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes and many other animals. Reaching lengths of almost 9 feet, it is the longest native snake species in the United States. Eastern Indigos have the ability to eat venomous snakes, such as rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and copperheads.
