Ocelot

General Information

Unlike many cats, they do not avoid water and can swim well. They average 50" in length, from the tip of the tail to the tip of the nose, and a weight of 24-35 pounds. The Texas ocelot is critically endangered and researchers believe that less than 50 ocelots remain in the States. Ocelot numbers are higher in Mexico, Central America, and south into northern Argentina.
