Roadrunner

General Information

Although able to fly, a roadrunner usually depends on its swift running style to capture prey and to escape from predators, reaching speeds of 15 mph in quick bursts. A roadrunner is a bird born to run! As they run, they hold their lean frames nearly parallel to the ground and use their long tails as rudders.
