A southern Africa species, the Makinder’s Eagle Owl can be found living in highlands, forests and farmland. It eats a variety of small mammals and this makes up around 90% of their overall diet. A common myth with owls is that they can rotate their head all the way around, however, an owl can actually only rotate it's head about 270°.
