Striped Skunk

General Information

The striped skunk is a species known for its characteristic defence mechanism. Its infamous scent spray can be fired up to three metres and it has the ability to spray from just six weeks old. This defence mechanism protects it from predators such as owls, coyotes and foxes. The striped skunk is native to North America. It lives in a variety of habitats - from woodlands and forests to grassy plains. However, it is viewed as a pest in urban areas. Our Skunks can be seen living alongside our Raccoons in AMAZU!
