Coati

Allgemeine Informationen

Coatis often travel in groups of a dozen or more individuals. Groups consist of mothers and young males and females during much of the year. Adult males are typically solitary. When traveling on the ground, coatis hold their long tails upright to keep the coati troop together and to communicate safety and contentment. Their very important tails are also used for balance when climbing trees. The tail is down to signal danger.
