New in 2024: The lost trails of Roanoke

Between Beautiful Britain and New Lübeck you’ll find our Roanoke Island. The original place was known as ‘The Lost Colony’ because it vanished almost without a trace shortly after settlers made a second attempt to live there. There was no indication of a fight, and many legends and stories surround the circumstances. However there is one thing we know for sure: Back then the island had no developed walking trails and flat pathways. Instead, there were trails that could either be used or were being created by the settlers. In any case, they presented a challenge to anyone who tried to walk them. Our new Adventure Trail with its many creative elements will give you an idea of the difficulties the early settlers faced.
