Cuban Rock Iguana

Allgemeine Informationen

Cuban rock iguanas are omnivores, they eat leaves, flowers, vegetables and insects. They are also important seed dispersers for native plants. They have strong tails that they use to whip for defence. Hunting and habitat loss is causing their decline in the wild and are listed as a Vulnerable species. To escape predators, they sometimes jump into water, they use their tails to help swim and can hold their breath for 30 minutes. Our iguana is called Havana and she's 7 years old.
