Raccoon

Allgemeine Informationen

The Northern raccoon is an opportunistic, omnivorous species that eats anything from nuts, seeds and berries to eggs, birds and crustaceans. It also raids bins in urban areas for leftover household food. It is indigenous to North and central America and Canada. It's wild habitat consists of woodland, always near to water. However it is considered a pest species when it resides in urban areas where it seeks refuge in attics and under housing structures. In the wild they live around 3 years, in captivity it can be up to 20 years. Our raccoons can be seen living in AMAZU with our Skunks! If they're not outside, have a look through their window to see them in their lumberjack themed home!
